You are welcome to contact John and Mary, by clicking their name, for information about walking with the u3a.
It helps to know if you are to turn up for a walk so contact John & Mary no later than 5.00pm on the Monday prior to a walk.
As part of the Evesham u3a Silver Jubilee celebrations, an afternoon Walking Jamboree will be organized, open to all Evesham u3a members. This walk is scheduled for Thursday 25 June 2026. The 1.5 miles walk will start from Oat Street car park at 2.15 pm. The route leads along the east side of Vine Street, around Merstow Green, down Boat Lane and along the river bank to Abbey Park, where the event will finish with ice creams. We are planning to identify walkers with rosettes or ribbons and are hoping for publicity in the local press.
If you are a member of a walking group, please tell your group leader that you wish to attend. Any other members please email me John Alexander-Head or via the ‘Walks over 4 Miles’ webpage so I know to expect you.

OVERBURY & BREDON HILL
Start time 10.00am
Led by John & Mary
Note - walk location changed. We had planned to have a walk starting at Ford but road works prevent this.
Our walk from the pleasant village of Overbury commences with a gentle ascent through Overbury Park, along a well metaled driveway. Following some well-made field tracks we find our way to the edge of Bredon Hill with spectacular views over Great Comberton and Pershore. We descend by firm tracks along the southern flank of the hill with spectacular views over the countryside.
The walk Is 5 ½ miles long and the ascent is 835 feet.
To get to Overbury, take the A46 south and turn right into Beckford at Station Road, beside Beckford Inn. In the village go left to Conderton, follow the road to Conderton and then Overbury. Turn right into the road beside St. Faith’s Church and park on Church Row or where this road turns right to adjacent cottages. Postcode GL20 7NY.
On your journey home, you will pass the Old Post Office at Beckford which offers snacks and hot drinks.
