How can you get involved in walking cricket in Evesham?
Join us on Tuesday afternoons upstairs in the sports hall at Wallace House, or at Pershore CC in the summer 11-12. There are more than 10 hubs around the county run by Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, including Evesham which the u3a supports, so as well as contacting our members you can find out more from their community manager Jacob Hockey. We play at walking pace. We keep fit and active and it's great if you haven't played cricket for a while, and for new players. At our weekly fun games we are coached by professional staff in cricket skills. It's an inclusive version of cricket, we are male and female players of all ages and abilities. Little wins are celebrated, a member who hasn't taken a catch before is congratulated.
Worcestershire sends a team to play other Counties (like Yorkshire u3a here), and to play in tournaments against other Counties at Lords!
We demonstrate the game during mid-week county championship matches at Worcestershire County Cricket Club - and receive a complimentary ticket for the match.
Every year we enter a team in national walking cricket festivals, outdoor and indoor.
