We are an enthusiastic group with a varied knowledge of Patchwork Quilting and other craft skills. Whilst not claiming to be experts, those members with expertise in a particular area will often impart that knowledge to the rest of the group. It is this sharing of knowledge and the occasional outside speaker that increases our repertoire, not to mention the friendly encouragement we all give each other.
We usually sew and craft by hand although the hall we use has very good facilities for when we bring our sewing machines etc.
As some of us have made several quilts over the years and we also occasionally combine to make a single quilt within the group using our 'scraps', we have donated some of our quilts to charities, including a woman's refuge and St Richards Hospice.

Our 25th Anniversary Celebration
To celebrate our 25th anniversary the Patchwork, Quilting and other handicrafts group hosted an afternoon tea party on 14th July for the members of our group as well as Patchwork and Quilting 2, Dressmaking and Needlecraft groups. We had 'bring and show' display tables and each group leader went through in some detail what their groups had been making recently. This was followed by a wonderful afternoon tea (all provided by the members present) and then some party games. We ended by presenting the person who had been a u3a member the longest and then the youngest and oldest people there with posies.
