The Science, Technology and Engineering For All Group is primarily a discussion group which meets on the LAST Friday morning, yes LAST FRIDAY of each month, to discuss a great breadth of topics. One meeting was on the subject of that mysterious chemical water, aspects of its physics, types of beer, why ice floats, its once possible use as a Russian weapon, and how hydraulic cements work. On another occasion we considered the problems of robots and machinery and dangers of robotics and AI.
We also have visiting speakers, most recently one who told us about the complex organisation of the cells we are made up of.
We also enjoy occasional days out like the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, (recently revisited this amazing place, March 2023), a wonderland for anyone interested in the Zoology or Geology displays and a location of some of the great discoveries in science and where Darwin's theory of Evolution came to be known.
