Saturday 14th December Pershore Rotary Event
It was a chilly Saturday morning when we 'quietly' arranged ourselves outside ASDA in Pershore to add a bit of cheer for the shoppers. The Rotary Club organisers had not factored in any time for set up and take down of the band between continuous performances between two choirs. We performed a selection of Carols and secular pieces before 'quietly' removing ourselves.
Friday 6th December Broadway Late Night Shopping
Unlike the previous week the wind and gales had whipped up such a frenzy that it was feared the event would be cancelled but the organiser, Anona, came to the rescue by securing the Lifford Hall for what would normally be the outdoor stalls. The band got to play on the stage to entertain the shoppers and we probably reached a bigger audience.
Friday 29th November 2024 Broadway Late Night Shopping
We have become regulars at these Late Night Shopping events but had a new experience this year with a bigger marquee but no sides. Fortunately it wasn't too windy and there was no rain or snow.
Friday 1st March 2024 Back to School
A rather unusual opportunity to play for and with the children of Holy Redeemer Catholic Primary School Pershore. Performing in front of the entire school we were entertained by their musical ensemble of trumpet, trombones, clarinets and violins. They played a tango and a cha-cha-cha and the violins played a duet. The band then played 'O Sole Mio' accompanied by our talented young artists. We finished the afternoon with a few lively pieces of our own like 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' and 'Dippermouth blues'. Hopefully we will have inspired our young audience and musicians.
