Evesham and District u3a want the photography competition to help challenge the negative and stereotypical ways older people are represented as

all of which phrases have appeared in recent media stories and academic research.

The Centre for Ageing Better is an example of a charity working towards this aim.

Judging criteria

Keep in mind that the judges will be considering:

  • the ethos of the u3a and the motto “LEARN, LAUGH, LIVE”;
  • how u3a members participate in and around Evesham;
  • photography technique; and
  • how they represent the region's diverse population and our time.

The admin team supporting the competition will do their best to ensure that photographs are judged anonymously.
